What would a father ask for his family if not for a safe shelter in time of trouble?
...Thanks to you, our children feel safe from the threat of war.
...We have a proper, safe shelter. No more worries from any movement of some tiny Hezbollah soldier. All of this because of you and your great generosity."

Shalom!
The comments above are but an excerpt from a letter we received. It was written by a very thankful Israeli who now has a bomb shelter that his family and neighbors can actually utilize when that unfortunate necessity presents itself. Their apartment building's bomb shelter could not be used during the Lebanon War of 2006 because of its condition at that time, but Tikvat Am Yisrael (in English: The Hope for the People of Israel) helped to change that.
A letter we received from Israel:
(translated from Hebrew)
To Rony, Shalom,
In these crazy days of lack of defense and stability due to our government's incompetence and after experiencing the Second Lebanon War (we had to escape from place to place because of the lack of proper and safe shelters for our children) what would a father as for his family, for his children, if not for a safe shelter in time of trouble?
A place where we can stay without fear, and a confidence that it will provide our minimal needs. Until now, the thought of that place was given up and every small tension at the border jumped the level of fears in our children and wives. This is the way it is when you do not have a proper and fitting shelter.
Today, thanks to your great generosity we have no words to praise and thank you for your most generous contribution and your great help in the restoration of our bomb shelter which had nothing in it except walls of concrete.
Today, thanks to you, we have a model shelter with toilets, sinks, beds, lighting, water, tile floors and even a shower in the ladies bathroom. It's an example shelter and all thanks to you.
Thanks to you, our children feel safe from the threat of war. There are no more worries among the families and the wonderful feeling that we have a proper, safe shelter. No more worries from any movement of some tiny Hezbollah soldier. All this because of you and your great generosity.
May you be blessed for it and may your joy be full for helping the people of Israel, in Zion. And for you Rony, thank you very much for connecting, coordinating and organizing the honored congregation. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts,
The Tenants of Neve Oranim
(Neighborhood in the City of Tzfat)

rebuilding her shelter would be taken care of by her Christian friends in America at no cost to her)
